Fast and Furious Review

Fast and Furious

Fast and Furious was...well Fast and Furious and a lot of fun.

My rating 3.0 Stars

If I am going to watch a bad movie, it had better entertain me with some good action, fast cars, explosions and fast chases. Movies like that are a dime a dozen, but are they entertaining? Some of them can be while others can be a real bear to watch. However, whether they are good or not there is only one way to watch movies like these and that is to take your brain and leave it as far away from you as you can. Any type of thinking you may do, even if one synapse fires, and you will not enjoy these movies. Why, because there is no shred of reality in these films, none that can be found. Even if you try your best to find some sort of realism in these movies you won’t find it, but don’t let that stop you from watching and enjoying them. They can be a lot of fun to watch, consider it a fix for your inner child.

When I was a kid—actually I think that most kids do this—I would play with my toy cars and pretend to have these elaborate races. Of course there were always crashes and incidents, but one thing is true, my driver always won. I even remember there were these toy race cars that were designed to show a wrecked bumper when they hit something. They were so much fun to play with. Of course that inner child is still within a lot of us and some of us still play that old game. Except we don’t use toy cars any more we play video games like Grand Theft Auto, Dirt, Driv3r and more like it or we watch movies like Fast & Furious. Frankly I prefer to play the games, but this is a review of Fast & Furious so I will have to wait for another time to talk about the games.

I’m not going to lie. Fast & Furious is not a great movie. In fact it is about the most ridiculous plot line I have ever heard of, but, damn it, it was freaking fun to watch. Forget the story, who cares about the stupid story when it comes to movies like these. It’s like the video games, the stories suck something awful. The stories in movies like these are just a step above the video games. However, that isn’t the reason we watch them. No, the reason we watch is to see some cool cars, some hot chicks, some cool stunts, fast racing, you know the things we don’t get to see in real life. Fast & Furious had all of that and more. They threw in some stupid story about revenge and murder and all that jive, but I wasn’t anything to be impressed by.

The movie starts out with action and it never subsides. If fact it just got better and better all the way to the end. Who cares if the sequences were realistic or not, that’s why you left your brain somewhere else. If you want realism go watch something else.

Watching this movie is like riding on a roller coaster ride and it doesn’t disappoint. If you love movies like these or if you just want to unplug and watch something totally ridiculous. Fast & Furious will not disappoint.

Say what you will about this series or this film in particular, but I really enjoyed this one. Give it a chance, it’s better than it might seem, even though the title is pretty terrible, redundant, and in need of being changed to something better. Good review, please check out mine when you can!

I have since began looking at these types of movies from a different point of view. I think divorce does that to people. You know, make you see things differently. But, you’re right, these movies are fun. I still wouldn’t call them good. They’re just fun. Like fried chicken, yummy, but so bad for you. So I guess in moderation, fried chicken and fun movies are a good way to treat yourself sometimes. Just don’t make it a habit. :) Thanks for the comment. I will check out your review. That is if it’s still up. It’s only been three years. :)
